You can read the article in the UK Telegraph newspaper. (Be warned, if you have an older computer like me, this page is slow....I get the spinning wheel of death, aaaargh.)
There are a few phrases that I think are missing, like "outside the box." It's a tired phrase, but I still hear it used. What do you think should be on this list?
The top ten most irritating phrases:
1 - At the end of the day
2 - Fairly unique
3 - I personally
4 - At this moment in time
5 - With all due respect
6 - Absolutely
7 - It's a nightmare
8 - Shouldn't of
9 - 24/7
10 - It's not rocket science

I've never heard "crank call" How would you use it?
Along with rocket science, my husband also likes to say, "It's Not Brain Surgery!" to me when we play cribbage. Argh! LOL!
Oh LOL is overused too.
Blessings to you.
LOL ~ My comment ~
It doesn't take a "rocket scientist" "with all due respect" thta "absolutely" "at the end of the day", "24-7" "I personally" "at this very moment" would, I believe fall into the ranking of "it's a nightmare" experience for you, for I am "fairly unique" in that I would be totally irritating to you.... LOL ....
I use almost all of those .... LOL .....
Have a blessed day ... and who made the Top Ten List of Most Irritating Phrases" ? LOL
